Tied Up: How To Make a Harness With Your Own Hands Without a Single Stitch

Garterblog.ru Как сделать портупею своими руками без единого стежка.

This experiment is based on a simple idea – why not to make a harness from a single piece of a beautiful rope, inspired and using the shibari technique. Shibari is the Japanese bondage art, which has sensual, aesthetic and erotic components.

I suggest using the shibari technique to create accessories that can be combined with outerwear.
Leather, pvc (and other materials) harnesses have firmly entered the everyday life of many people as accessories, which can also be worn with outerwear. Why not also use ropes for these purposes.

Shibari gives more freedom in how and what can be tied and what form of harness to create.

All you need is an aesthetic rope to your taste and hands (your own or your partner / friend).
I found the textured twisted golden rope at a fairly low price (per meter) in a fabric and sewing accessories store.

5 meters to me was enough for a laconic harness (as in the photo below). I would advise buying 10 meters, so as not to limit the fantasy with rope length.

Important point: after buying a rope, process its ends immediately. Twisted ropes quickly begin to puff, if not done.

The second point: when there are several ropes, they can be interconnected, if you do not have enough length for one of them. I have no purpose to retell the shibari technique. Information on how to tie up the ends among themselves is quickly googled.

The purpose of the publication is to inspire those to whom this aesthetics is close to stylish experiments. The rest is for improvisation and what you want to create.

Reference: the first brand whose harnesses, inspired by the shibari technique, I saw was DSTM. SS 2015 collection.

In 2013 the collection with shibari-harnesses was released by Tom Ford (SS 2013).
